“Audrey, come on! We have to go.” The shout came from across Audrey’s apartment in the Village in Manhattan as she put on her lipstick. “I know, I know,” said Audrey as she gave herself one last look-over in her bathroom mirror and darted for the front door to meet her best friend and roommate Sasha. Audrey could not contain her excitement! She was about to meet the lead singer of Bite Lust, her favorite rock band ever. She started listening to them when she was only eighteen during her first year at NYU. Now, three years later, she won a meet-and-greet from the rock band’s Instagram giveaway and Sasha was the benefactor of Audrey’s generosity. Sasha was also a fan – basically through osmosis with Audrey. Sasha was forced to listen to Bite Lust on a daily basis, whether she wanted to or not. Audrey had followed Bite Lust from their first single that was released, had attended almost every concert they had ever performed and of course could sing every song word for word. But she also knew the real reason she absolutely loved the band. It was William, the lead singer. Not only was he gorgeous, but he had a voice that could make any woman melt into a puddle. And now she was going to be meeting him for the first time on Halloween night! She had never missed Bite Lust’s annual Halloween concert, her favorite night of the year. She loved everything about Halloween. William always dressed up like a vampire and she did too. She loved when he would flash his sharp canines between singing and playing his guitar. She always tried to make her way to the front of every concert. She imagined he was singing only to her, lost in his eyes and his voice.
